Clean Install Instructions

During installation, the software will need to utilize certain resources that may already be in use by other applications.

Such applications may include, but are not limited to, virus scanners, file management applications, and screen savers.

In order to achieve an effective installation of our software and minimize technical support problems for our customers, IMSI/Design recommends that you set up your machine for a "clean install" using one of the following procedures:

(Note: If you have already tried to install an IMSI/Design product and suspect a corrupt installation, please uninstall the application, set up your machine for a clean install, then re-install the product.)

* For Customers Using Windows Vista

IMPORTANT: Your original IMSI/Design or IMSI application disk is required. DO NOT PROCEED WITHOUT IT.

(1) Using the Add or Remove Programs (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel) remove all IMSI/Design or IMSI software.

(2) Delete all of these folders:

               C:\ users\your user name\Application Data\ IMSIDesign

               C:\ users\your user name\Application Data\ IMSI

               C:\Program Files\IMSIDesign

               C:\Program Files\IMSI

(3) Copy the Bin folder from your IMSI/Design or IMSI application disk to the desktop

(4) Run Setup.exe from the Bin folder that you have copied to the desktop

* For Customers Using Windows XP

IMPORTANT: Your original IMSI/Design or IMSI application disk is required. DO NOT PROCEED WITHOUT IT.

(1) Using the Add or Remove Programs (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel) remove all IMSI/Design or IMSI software.

(2) Delete these folders:

               C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Application Data\IMSIDesign

               C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Application Data\IMSI

               C:\Program Files\IMSIDesign

               C:\Program Files\IMSI

(3) Optional: Clean the registry. (If you don’t have a registry cleaning utility, you might try Regseeker, which can be downloaded for free from hoverdesk.net at http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm)

(4) Optional: De-fragment your hard drive (Start --> Programs -> Accessories --> System Tools --> Disk Defragmenter)

(5) Copy the Bin folder from your IMSI/Design or IMSI application disk to the desktop

(6) Run Setup.exe from the Bin folder that you have copied to the desktop
