Improved Roof Modification Tools
TurboFloorPlan Pro makes the creation of unique, custom roofs easier than ever with two major improvements:
- Move Edge, formerly known as “Maintain Support Height”, now allows you to adjust the support height of your roof so the slope of the roof can be extended or retracted as the support is moved.
- Match Plane will force the secondary plane that runs in the same direction to be matched to a primary plane that the user selects…will raise or lower the support height of the secondary plan so that the plane will be inline with the primary.
Match Plane and move edge allow for multiple plate height roofs. This eliminates plate height restrictions based on the building location (level) of your roof allowing for more complex and accurate roof for such things as split-level construction.
New Snap Tracking
When inserting/editing/positioning elements, you can hover over a previously inserted element’s snap points to project a virtual line along the same path or at polar/angle snap angles to allow current object to be snapped to. It’s a great way to perfectly align cabinets, furniture, pictures on walls, recess lighting, multiple windows and doors, footings and even works with the layout tools!
New View Filter Enhancements
TurboFloorPlan gives you options to show or hide just the parts of your home that you want to see, with four new view filters including:
- Pick Items to Hide
- Hide All Items to Hide
- Pick Items to make Items Selectable
- Make All Items Selectable Except
New Schedule Tools
TurboFloorPlan makes it easier to create detailed construction documents with three new schedule tools:
- New Door Schedule Tool
- New Window Schedule Tool
- New Room Region Schedule Tool
This major improvement allows you to automatically generate accurate door and window schedules, including markers. Change your windows or doors then automatically update your schedules. No more creating schedules by hand! The time savings are incredible.
Improved Render Dialog
Reviewing design alternatives and quickly comparing “what-if” scenerios is now even easier with the improved render dialog. Now the render dialog box retains its size and camera position so that you can exit and tweak a model, such as change paint color, lights, etc. in between renders. This will allow you to achieve exactly the same ‘shot’ as the previous camera setup.
Improved Batch Printing
Print settings saved with view and command to allow printing all (or selection)
Improved Landscape Paths
TurboFloorPlan makes it easy to create driveways and pathways to navigate through lush gardens and lawns. Now, it’s even easier to set the precise placement of these paths because they are now constrained, or fixed to their original placement, when lengthening or shortening. Right-clicking allows for the stretch command which can be used to move the paths endpoint around.
New Room Dimension Tool
Quickly insert the Length and Width of a room with this new dimension tool to speed design.
Improved Footing Controls
New TurboFloorPlan Pro gives you the ability to insert mono footings and strip footings by picking points, rather than having to attach to walls. This means you can freely place your footings wherever you need them. Plus Mono Footings by picking points are now very powerful when used in combination with the snap tracking.
Improved Site Boundaries
Snap to setback lines and points on boundary as well.
New Drop Exterior Face Option
New TurboFloorPlan 15 provides added flexibility with its new drop exterior face option. This option is used when a wall has an exterior side and is using the exterior surface material….this is the case when walls connect together creating an enclosed boundary. For example, 4 walls create and enclosed building which means there is a definite interior side and a definite exterior side….if and enclosed boundary is not made, then all sided of all the walls will be considered ’interior’ and use the associated interior surface material.
We have now also introduced the ability to force a wall side to be ‘exterior’ meaning it could be sitting out in the middle of a field on it’s own, have both it’s left & right faces forced to exterior which would mean they would have a brick or siding material (the exterior material) instead of an interior material (such as drywall) by default.
Dropping the face on exterior surfaces is used to extend the brick/siding down in a 3D view so that it covers the floor framing (since walls would normally be drawn with their base plate on the floor).
New Polygon Hatch
This new hatch pattern has been added as another option to more clearly and precisely communicate construction details.
Improved Element Editor
The Element Editor now allows users to quickly edit multiple catalog items without having to enter a separate Properties dialog for each. Common properties are displayed in the panel to the right of the Editor tree.
Improved Model View Tooltips
One of the ways TurboFloorPlan helps you design is by displaying helpful information about tools on the fly, called Tooltips. Previously, accessed by right clicking, these tips can now be viewed by simply hovering your mouse over an object for a few seconds, and the Tooltip is displayed.
Improved SketchUp File Import
TurboFloorPlan has now extended its file format support to include import from the popular Google SketchUp v7 application. Now you can import your SketchUp designs and use TurboFloorPlan’s enhanced symbol, lighting, and material library to bring designs to life.
New Sound
Now you can attach and play sounds to your animation files. Listen to birds singing while outside on the deck. Make the dishwasher hum, or stereo play. It’s just another way TurboFloorPlan brings your dream home to life!
New StartUp
The controls you’ve been asking for are now available. Links to view QuickStart, Documentation, and the News Feed are now readily available at StartUp.
